Sustainable homes built with net-zero energy strategy and meadow restoration
Set within a protected greenbelt zone, this new development introduces two passive houses built to net-zero energy standards. The design includes photovoltaic systems, high-efficiency insulation, and greywater treatment. Heating and cooling are provided by heat pumps.
Beyond the homes themselves, the landscape was carefully restored using historical ecological data. Native grasses and wildflowers were reintroduced to revive the original biodiversity. This meadow now supports pollinators and reduces the heat island effect.
Architecture and landscaping were planned together. Building materials are regionally sourced and low carbon. The homes blend visually into the restored environment.
This project models how heritage, sustainability, and modern living can align.
